“The ballot is stronger than the bullet.” and “I am not bound to win, but I am bound to be true. I am not bound to succeed, but I am bound to live by the light that I have. I must stand with anybody that stands right, and stand with him while he is right, and part with him when he goes wrong.” – Abraham Lincoln
One of my favorite quotes, and relevant to the significance of choosing your elected representation thoughtfully. We live in a beautiful and diverse district, rich with opportunities. Making those opportunities available to all who call our district home, means electing representatives who are willing to do what is right, even when it’s not popular; willing to listen and understand, even if we disagree; willing to carry your message to the State Legislature, even though it may fall on deaf ears.
I am excited about the opportunity to run for District 19 State Senate and develop a rapport with you and the citizen groups you represent. Whether your interests lie in improving the quality of our education system, 2nd Amendment rights, health and human services, the environment, economic growth or making stronger communities and families, efficient and effective use of your tax dollars is key to getting the most out of what each of us invests from our individual hard work.
No one already has all the answers to the issues our State will potentially face during the next four years. We will take them as they come, and find the answers together through each of our personal experiences. As your State Senator, I promise to be accessible and respect all who have chosen to make their life in District 19.
I look forward to your support throughout the coming months!
