Willa Dailey

Biographical Info

Willa Dailey co-owns and operates Dailey Realty and Auction Service with her husband of 23 years, Jay. They have an office in North Mankato and an Auction house in Mankato. In their spare time they race, breed and manage partnerships for Thoroughbred race horses.

Willa with her horseBorn and raised in Mankato, Willa’s career started in 1974 working for a prominent, local real estate and property Management Company. Through the next 18 years she continued her career working for law firms specializing in real estate and ultimately landed a job with Merrill Lynch Realty’s Administrative office in Tucson, AZ. A series of promotions and transfers led to management opportunities in Southern California and Phoenix AZ in sales office management, ultimately accepting the position of Vice President of Career Development and Relocation Management which included working with Fortune 500 companies in the transfer and movement of their employees nation-wide.

She married Mankato native Jay Dailey in 1992. They started their own independent real estate business in 2000 and in 2001 Willa graduated from Auctioneer’s school to fully join her husband in the business. They have provided assistance to a wide range of public, private, local and state charitable organization’s fundraising events and auctions for 24 years. The daughter of a WWII and Korean War Veteran, she holds all Veterans issues near and dear to her heart.

Willa DaileyTheir shared love of rural life and led them to purchase a farm near Mankato where they could pursue their horse hobby from their back yard. They have sponsored youth horsemanship events for the Minnesota 4H Western Heritage Program, hosted team roping and organized local rodeos as well as their current involvement in Thoroughbred race horses.

Willa is Chairman of the Board for “The Leg Up Fund”, an up and coming 501© 3 whose mission is to provide emergency financial assistance to injured race horse Jockeys and their families. She also sits on the Board of Directors for the Minnesota Quarter Horse Racing Association.

Past and present hobbies include horses, Border Collies Mickey and Georgie, riding and racing motorcycles; sky diving, golf, concert violinist, antique collecting, trap and sport shooting, dance instructor, Maverick’s hockey fan and a lifetime of political activism.
